This is a district event with other troops competing for first place in Orienteering. They use a Map and Compass on a five mile course and hit stations (towns) along the way where they are required to complete a task that they have learned.

Back to basics at Camp O in East Granby. Meet at Newgate Prison Parking Lot.
We will be doing Knots, Lashings, and firebuilding.

Our meeting night will be at Knight's Quest Lasertag in Newington.
The cost is $20 for three rounds of Lasertag.
Hike the Appalachian Trail in CT

We will hike the Appalachian trail from Lions head to Sages Ravine, then on to Mt Frissel to the high point of CT.
Canoe Trip to Oil City

Canoe trip from Terry Plain to Oil City, we will portage past the rapids.

Fishing Talk with Joe Netolicky from Joe's Bait Farm. He will talk about lures, bait, fishing, etc...
If you have your own pole and tackle, bring it.
Pack 261 will serve juice, coffee, and donuts.
This event is open to Pack and Troop 261 and their families.
Feel free to bring a friend to recruit.

Summer Camp Week
July 18 - 24, Sunday thru Saturday
Scouts will earn several merit badges, and have fun swimming and boating.
The 2010 Summer Camp fee is $330 per Scout. A $50 per Scout deposit is requested
to be submitted by the troop by February 19, 2010. The balance of fees is to be received
by the Council Service Center on or before May 21, 2010. Fees received on May
22 or after will be subject to a $25 per person late fee. Please plan accordingly.
